Two Bengaluru startups release powerful tech platforms on World Quantum Day

Bengaluru: On the occasion of World Quantum Day, Bengaluru-based startups — QpiAI and QNu Labs — announced two new quantum technologies.

QpiAI, one of the eight startups selected under the National Quantum Mission coordinated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), announced the launch of one of India’s most powerful quantum computers featuring 25 superconducting qubits (quantum bits) on Monday.

"On this #WorldQuantumDay, QpiAI is thrilled to announce the launch of QpiAI-Indus, India’s most powerful Quantum Computer featuring 25 superconducting qubits, with an ambitious roadmap to scale up to 128 NISQ qubits within the next two years and 100 logical qubits by 2030,” QpiAI said in a social media post.

QpiAI-Indus is the first full-stack quantum computing system in the country, combining advanced quantum hardware, scalable control and optimised software for transformative hybrid computing. It integrates quantum processors, next-generation Quantum-HPC software platforms, and AI-enhanced quantum solutions.

“With this milestone, QpiAI is driving deep-science and deep-tech innovation across life sciences, drug discovery, materials sciences, mobility, logistics, sustainability, and climate action,” the company added.

Founded in 2019, the bootstrapped company has filed 11 patent applications and generates around Rs 1 million in annual revenue. It has also received significant capital support from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

Meanwhile, QNu Labs launched QShield, described as the "world’s first platform" that enables seamless cryptography management across any environment. QShield offers an end-to-end solution for securing sensitive data both in transit and at rest.

QNu Labs, also selected under the National Quantum Mission, said in a social media post, “On #WorldQuantumDay, we are proud to announce the launch of #QShield—the world’s first unified platform for seamless #quantum-safe #cryptography management across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.”

The startup’s products have been commercialised and delivered to organisations, including DRDO, Weapons and Electronic Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE), the Indian Army, BEL, and the Indian Navy.
