<p>Bengaluru: Going back on the earlier policy of giving an end-to-end contract for waste collection, transportation, and processing to four companies that put up Integrated Waste Processing Plants on the city’s outskirts, Deputy Chief Minister and Bangalore Development Minister D K Shivakumar announced on Saturday that Bangalore Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) will call seven-year tenders for waste collection and transportation in 33 packages (one package per assembly constituency, and two in big constituencies). </p><p>The cabinet had recently approved the proposal, which could cost approximately Rs 4,000 crore.</p>.<p>The earlier tender, where the city’s waste collection was divided into 89 packages, was scrapped by the high court and allowed for a re-tender. Shivakumar also said that tenders for setting up Integrated Solid Waste Management Parks will be called within the next 15 days.</p>.Delivery boy assaults customer in Bengaluru for giving the inaccurate address.<p><strong>Clean Bengaluru</strong></p>.<p>Shivakumar also announced that the government has decided to launch the ‘Clean Bengaluru’ programme to clean up all the waste and debris dumped across the city.</p>.<p>For this, he said, a new mobile application would be launched for citizens to report blackspots and Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste. “We will depute officials and marshals for the duty. The public can also alert the officials about such spots either by calling a dedicated phone line or through the mobile application,” Shivakumar said. </p>
