<p>It was only accidentally that she stumbled upon a video on how to make a key ring using polymer clay while surfing the internet. Anushtha Ghosh would have never thought that the video would lead her to create small polymer figurines one day. The talented girl is presently studying at Christ University and is also a content writer.<br /><br /></p>.<p>“I have always been interested in making miniature items and also indulge in embroidery and crochet. The figurines that I create using polymer clay have to be baked once the moulding is done, to solidify them. I make miniatures that are sometimes based on a particular theme or something that comes to my mind at that point of time,” explains Anushtha.<br /><br />“I like to give away these creations to people as souvenirs and have also made some for my friends on demand. I practise this as a hobby because I like keeping myself busy. In the long run, I might look at it as a full-time work,” she says. <br /><br />Talking about how she came across using polymer clay for craft, she says, “When I first saw it on a blog, I thought it was something made out of ceramic that I have experience using, but once I read further, I learnt that it was actually made of polymer clay. This clay is more stable, durable and malleable than ceramic and is easier to work with but it does take longer to get the finished product. However, I decided to give it a try. I started almost a year back and make a product almost every other day. Each time, it’s an enjoyable experience.”<br /><br />Ask her about how she takes out time from her busy schedule and she says that one needs to make time for what they like to do. “When I return from college, it actually acts as a stress buster. However, it does take a lot of time, so sometimes I have to give up on my sleep, which is alright,” smiles Anushtha.<br /><br />Creating these small wonders generally takes her about an hour (for smaller figurines). But sometimes, it can take upto 7 to 8 hours for a larger piece like the guitar she made recently. “As of now, I have made bracelets, key rings, earrings, small name plates and fridge magnets,” she details.<br /><br />The first thing that she made with polymer clay was a pair of cupcake earrings. And she says that the inspiration either comes from the videos she watches or from the things that she reads. “For instance, I am a huge fan of Harry Potter, so there are things that I have made which are inspired by the series,” she adds. <br /><br />Other than this, she involves herself in making items out of paper as well. Anushtha feels that hobbies like these break the monotony of daily life and make it interesting.<br /><br />She also enjoys reading, travelling, watching war movies, stitching, baking and music. <br />And as for the feedback that she has received for her work, she says that it has been great. “It is a time consuming art but the response from people has been encouraging.
