Woman riding pillion with husband dies in crash

A young woman riding pillion with her husband died moments after their motorcycle crashed into a car moving ahead on NICE Road near Kumaraswamy Layout, South Bengaluru, in the early hours of Sunday, police said.

Roopa, 19, and her husband, Manohar, were riding to his hometown, Hosur. Around 2.30 am, as they reached Sompura Lake, Manohar tried overtaking the car but the motorcycle ended up crashing into the automobile. The couple fell off the two-wheeler. Roopa suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot while Manohar escaped with minor injuries.

The Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police have registered a case.
