<p>Hubballi: Accusing that the BJP government at the Centre has a ‘very nasty’ habit of merely making announcements and headlines and not implementing them properly in actuality, RDPR and IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge predicted that announcements made in Union Budget 2025-26 will remain just as slogans.</p><p>“BJP government always says something and does something else. GST was proposed by Congress government for uniform tax, but it was badly implemented, and now you have GST on curd, pencil and even cremation activity. We have seen their budgets for 10 years, and let’s wait for the fineprint this time also,” he said.</p><p>Kharge told reporters in Hubballi that the Centre did not extend the helping hand required for MSMEs during and after the pandemic, and what is now announced is bit too late.</p><p>“Programmes like ‘Digital India’, ‘Make In India’ and ‘Skill India’ have just been slogans. Manufacturing output presented by the economic survey is very dismal. UDAN scheme required handholding, and they just closed it in a short period. Let Nirmala Sitaraman and Narendra Modi show the figures of manufacturing output of last 10 years,” he challenged.</p><p>He also charged the BJP-led Union government has been doing injustice to Karnataka in funds allocation though the state contributes a lot for the country’s economy.</p><p>Unemployment is rampant due to Modi’s masterstrokes. They (BJP) unnecessarily highlight issues like Sonia Gandhi’s remarks about President’s speech as they don’t want to speak about the country’s situation, he said.</p><p><strong>‘6 stampedes?’</strong></p><p>Suspecting that the number of stampedes and deaths in Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj are being hidden, Kharge said people there and some seers said six stampedes took place at four locations, but only one incident was shown.</p><p>“Why are they hiding details, like done related to Covid deaths? If something good happens, Modi takes credit. Otherwise, CMs have to take the brunt or cover it up. It would be bad for Modi’s image if it was told that six stampedes happened. Instead of merely taking dip at Prayagraj, Union Home Minister Amit Shah should have taken care of security concerns, so that lives could have been saved,” he added.</p>
