<p class="bodytext">The body of Ashok (21), who drowned near Hullinagadde bridge on July 10, was retrieved near Theerthakere on Thursday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Ashok was washed away in the flood on the submerged bridge when he was travelling on his bike from Karemane, to a relative’s house in<br />Kotethota.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The district administration, with the help of a 30 NDRF personnel, had launched a search operation for the body in the spot for four days, but in wain.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The search operation intensified after the villagers staged a protest and complained to MLA T D Rajegowda over the delay in the operation.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Diving experts, comprising Bhaskar and three others, carried out a search operation by diving deep in the river on Thursday. Simultaneously, locals and a team, headed by Peter Abraham, conducted a search using a coracle near Theerthakere, eight km away from Hullinagadde.</p>.<p class="bodytext">They found the body in a decomposed state, stuck to a plant. The identity was confirmed later.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The body was handed over to his relatives after postmortem.</p>.<p class="bodytext">In-charge SP Lakshmi Prasad was present. MLA Rajegowda has assured the family of providing compensation.</p>
