<p class="title">The Congress has formally announced ceding of the Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat to its alliance partner JD(S).</p>.<p class="bodytext">With this, the grand old party will contest only two out of the five seats that face bypoll on November 3.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Congress will now field candidates for the bypoll to the Ballari Lok Sabha seat and the Jamkhandi Assembly constituency.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The JD(S) will contest the Lok Sabha bypoll at Mandya, Shivamogga and the Assembly seat of Ramanagara.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“It isn’t that we don’t have candidates. It’s part of our strategy,” KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao stated.</p>
