<p>Cash and gold jewellery worth Rs 31.65 lakh have been reportedly stolen from a house in Subrahmanya. In a complaint lodged at the Subrahmanya Police Station, Praveen Kumar (38), son of Anand Aithal from Subrahmanya village in Kadaba, stated that he leaves home every day at around 4 am to perform priestly duties at the Subrahmanya Mutt. A thorough check revealed that the missing jewellery included a 36-gram Tulasi bead chain, a 36-gram floral design Venkateshwara pendant chain, two gold bracelets weighing 21 grams, a 60-gram long chain with a Lakshmi pendant, an 18-gram necklace, four bangles weighing 33 grams, a 20-gram small chain with a Lakshmi pendant, a 7-gram Navagraha ring, an 8-gram sacred ring, a 6-gram emerald ring, three women’s rings weighing 12 grams in total, and a 16-gram small chain.</p><p>The total value of the stolen jewellery is estimated at Rs 13,65,000, and along with the cash, the combined loss amounts to Rs 31,65,000. Praveen Kumar stated that the stolen items and cash had been accumulated over the past 20 years from his priestly income. He last saw the gold ornaments in the cupboard on August 1. The cupboard key was with him, there were no signs of forced entry, and only his wife was at home at the time. Subrahmanya Police have registered a case under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.</p>
