<p> <br />He was addressing a lecturers’ meeting organised here at the Government First Grade College on Wednesday.<br /><br />Various employment oriented courses will be offered at the Post Graduate Centre, for the benefit of the students hailing from the rural areas and to make them employable in the competitive world, Shivayogiswamy explained.<br /><br />He further said the slash in University Grants Commission (UGC) funds to the Government First Grade College will be reviewed once again. <br /><br />Measures will be taken to ensure that the UGC grants will be revoked once again. This would help in providing more facilities for the rural students who are pursuing their education in the college to ensure that they are equipped to compete with the urban students, he added.<br /><br />New courses<br /><br />Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the Government First Grade College B V Krishna said, various new courses are being offered in the college. <br /><br />Lecturers to all these new courses have also been appointed through the Public Services Commission.<br /><br />However, the principal added that the lack of basic infrastructure facilities in the college hindered the growth of the college.<br /><br />He appealed to the government to attend to these problems at the earliest and provide them to the college.<br /><br />Bharathiya Janata Party leaders K Narayanappa, Balavanahalli Lokesh, A V Bhairegowda, Gokul Nanjappa, Shrikant Bhat, Ramanna, senior lecturer Balappa, Shashidhar, Hafeezulla, Narayan, B R Venkataramu and several other important persons were present on the occasion.</p>
