<p>Mysuru: Waterfalls festival ‘Chunchanakatte Jalapathothsava’ across River Cauvery will be celebrated on November 30 and December 1 on Sri Rama temple premises at Chunchanakatte in Saligrama taluk of Mysuru district.</p><p>Addressing a media conference, here, on Wednesday, KR Nagar MLA D Ravishankar said, last year the festival was not celebrated due to drought and thus, it has been organised on a large scale this year, to attract tourists.</p><p>Ravishankar said, the fest is organised by Mysuru District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Kannada and Culture department and Tourism department, at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.</p><p>“Mysuru district in-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa has instructed all officials, to make the festival a success. The surroundings of the falls, streets of the village and temple and also villages on the route from KR Nagar town to Chunchanakatte will be illuminated. Potholes on the 15-km road - from KR Nagar town to Chunchanakatte - will be filled, to facilitate smooth flow of vehicular traffic,” he said.</p>.Jaipur Literature Festival set to return on January 30 next year; first list of speakers announced.<p>“An exhibition with stalls of various government departments will be set up, to create awareness about the schemes and benefits to the people. A health camp will be held for the benefit of the visitors. Temporary arrangements for drinking water and toilets will be made. Police security will be beefed up, for safety,” he said.</p><p><strong>Cultural events</strong></p><p>Musical nite by Raghu Dixit on November 30, Saturday; Sandalwood nite by actors Nimika Rathnakar and Priyanka; and musical nite by Manikanth Kadri and Hamsika Iyer on December 1, Sunday, are the highlights of the festival.</p><p>Assistant Commissioner H B Vijay Kumar, Assistant Director for Kannada and Culture M D Sudarshan and Assistant Director for Information and Public Relations T K Harish were present in the press meet.</p>
