'Cong to bank on UPA achievements'

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that the Congress leaders in the State have failed in convincing people about Central government’s achievements and as a result, the party suffered setback. BJP government portrays all central schemes as their own, he alleged.

The Sandhya Suraksha Scheme is being implemented in the State using 50 per cent grant from the Centre. Schemes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Development Scheme and Rajiv Gandhi Electricity Scheme are of the Central government, he added. BJP government has not initiated any steps to curb the electricity shortage. All power projects in the State were set up by previous governments , Hegde said.
