<p>Bengaluru: The death toll due to Covid-19 in Karnataka has now increased to 11, with the deaths of a 51-year-old woman in Belagavi and a 79-year-old man in Dakshina Kannada district.</p><p>According to the health department, both the deceased had Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI), with symptoms of fever, breathlessness, and cough.</p><p>The woman had hypertension and Type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with pleural effusion with ascites (fluid buildup in the chest and abdominal cavities) secondary to chronic kidney disease. He was admitted to a private hospital on June 6 and he died on June 9 due to Covid pneumonia and other comorbidities.</p><p>The number of active Covid positive cases in Karnataka rose to 459 and a cumulative of 1,287 cases, as of Tuesday. While 67 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours, a total of 817 patients have recovered since January this year.</p><p>Over the past 24 hours, a total of 571 Covid tests have been conducted, and the state's positivity rate stood at 11.73 per cent, with a case fatality rate of 2.98 per cent.</p><p>As of Tuesday, 453 of the 459 patients are isolating at home, while six are hospitalised, including two patients who are in the ICU.</p>
