“The village disability registers will be opened at Gram Panchayat level and urban disability register will be at the Urban Local Bodies. The register will be set up in BBMP limits on an experimental basis and based on the result, the registers will be set up in other places too,” he said.

He informed that the system is one of its kind as it is not implemented anywhere in India. Following the registration will be the process of creating awareness among the disabled with the help few trained personnel.

Registration will help the government to formulate schemes for the disabled including the opening of rehabilitation centers. Smart Cards too will be distributed to the people with disability in the later stages, Rajanna informed.
