Dog show draws a huge crowd in Madikeri

Tourists and visitors were captivated by dogs of different breeds as they pranced alongside their owners at the dog show organised as a part of Pravasi Utsav, at Gandhi Maidan in Madikeri, on Saturday.

The show was organised by the district administration and the Department of Animal Husbandry.

The various breeds of dogs entertained the visitors with there amazing performances. The owners were seen cajoling their pets to perform.

A few dogs developed uneasiness due to the weather conditions. After veterinary doctors treated them, they entered the field to participate in the show.

The show was flagged off by a retired deputy director of the veterinary department, Dr Kannanda Ayyappa.

The various breeds that participated in the show were Mudhol Hound, Siberian Husky, Chow Chow, Golden Retriever, Dobermann, Great Dane, Dachshund, German Shepherd, American Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Pug, Pomeranian and St Bernard and others. The spectators cheered police dog squad dogs Shaurya, Leo, Rambo and Prathvi.

At the command of their masters, the dog squad dogs posed in different positions and jumped through rings.

Dr Amarnath, Hemanth, Ramesh, Nithin Prabhu were judges. In-charge Deputy Commissioner K Lakshmi Priya and others were present.
