Environmental clearance for Mahadayi project: BJP MPs should question PM Modi, says Santosh Lad

He said, 'BJP leaders too were behaving in such manner that Modi should not be questioned.'

Belagavi: Labour Minister Santosh Lad dared BJP leaders and MPs from Karnataka to get environmental clearance from the Centre for getting the Mahadayi project implemented and question Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard.

Situation has been made such that none should question Modi who has been fooling the country since 11 years.

Lad told reporters on Monday that PM Modi has become like not being answerable to anybody. "Parliament session has been in progress and Modi instead of replying in the house to the questions posed by the Opposition has been making foreign tours. Prime Minister has almost visited 181 countries. BJP leaders too were behaving in such manner that Modi should not be questioned."

"We have kept funds ready and were ready to call tenders, but the Centre not giving its clearance has led in the works not taking off. BJP leaders had celebrated that the project would take off, but were now mute. BJP leaders from the state have to answer to the people as to why the project was not taking off. Centre has given environmental clearance for Goa and other states for implementing different projects, but Mahadayi project has been kept pending. After the orders of Mahadayi River Dispute Tribunal award of waters for the state, BJP had celebrated and distributed sweets," he said.

"Now none from BJP were speaking on getting environmental clearance from the Centre. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has taken up the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP MPs should take up the state’s demand with Modi," he said.
