Last Updated 24 November 2009, 17:57 IST

He was speaking after inaugurating the Janaspandana programme in Doddahasaala village in Kolar taluk.

“Ministers who are responsible for curtailing corruption are not taking any action as they are more concerned about retaining their power. They are mum even about the blatant illegal mining,” he alleged and added that even the Chief Minister was under external pressure and was not performing his duties, as a result of which officials were neglecting their work.
He added that crimes were increasing in the city limits. “Robberies have increased, cylinders, rice, vessels meant for Akshara Dasoha are being stolen, chain-snatching incidents in highly populated roads have increased. Despite this, the police department is not taking any action,” he said.

He also took the tahsildhar to task for not being present at the Janaspandana programme. The tahsildhar was at the Vakkaleri as a robbery case had been reported in the village.
Begli Suryaprakash, who was also present at the programme, urged grama panchayat president and members work together for the implementation of NREGS, saying: “The scheme will help improve the life of the villagers.”

Taluk Panchayat President V B Udayashankar also spoke at the occasion. Executive Officer A Manjunath, Grama Panchayat President Srinivas, leaders Chatrakodihalli Srirama Reddy, Venkatesh Gowda and Ramu were present.
