Four killed in a collision between car and lorry in Kodagu

Madikeri: Four youth died in an accident between car and lorry at Devarakolli in Kodagu district on Friday.

The deceased are Nihad (25), Rishan (24), Rashib (25) and Anish (25). They were travelling to Ullal from Gonikoppa.

The accident occurred near Devarakolli, a border area between Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada districts, when a lorry coming from Mangaluru collided head-on with the car.

Two of the youth died on the spot, while the remaining succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital, police said.

The car was completely mangled in the crash. A team of local youth from Sampaje helped pull the victims out of the wreckage and assisted in shifting them to the hospital.
