<p>Gift items and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed when a private cargo gift parcel centre caught fire at Byatarayanapura Saturday morning. Nearly 150 firefighters battled the blaze for five hours and brought it under control. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Byatarayanapura police said that the cause of the fire was unclear. The fire was first noticed at around 7 am inside Manoj Cargo gift parcel centre located in Timber Layout behind the satellite bus stand on Mysore Road. Local residents immediately informed the police who summoned the fire department. <br /><br />Firemen Ramaiah, Anand Singh, Nagaraj and Vasanth Kumar sustained minor burns and were treated at Victoria Hospital.<br /><br />The parcel centre is spread over a half-acre land. Clothes, electronic items, furniture, stationery and other valuables were gutted, police said.<br /></p>
