Walking from the Junior College till the office of the sub-divisional officer, the protesters said the anti-student policy of the State Government was deplorable.

SFI leader Munindra, who spoke on the occasion, said there are no bus pass facilities in most villages. Some students have to spend a lot of money on private transport facilities to come to school or college. In other villages, students have to walk all the way to their schools or colleges because there are no buses. “Under such circumstances, it would be entirely unfair on the part of the Government to increase the rate of the passes,” he said.

The protesters demanded that all students studying pre-university or lesser be given free passes. The passes should be issued in time. “Also, the buses in the villages should be prompt. Officers should work to ensure that the transport system is not delayed,” added the protesters.

SFI office-bearers Shridhar, Chandrashekhar, V Shrikanth, Venkatesh, Pramila, Veena, Nandini, Prema and others participated in the protest.
