<p>Despite heavy rain in the region, hundreds of devotees visited the Kukke Subrahmanya temple following a series of holidays from Saturday till Monday. <br /><br />Lakhs of people had the darshan of the temple’s presiding deity Lord Subrahmanya in the past three days. <br /><br />Scores of devotees thronged the temple on Monday, setting a record during what is considered off-season. <br /><br />More devotees are expected on Tuesday as well on the auspicious occasion of ‘Ashlesha Nakshatra.’ <br />Several devotees performed ‘Ashlesha Bali’, ‘Shesha Seve,’ ‘Nagaprathishte,’ ‘Mahapuja’ and ‘Panchamrutha Abhisheka’ in fulfilment of their vows. Adi Subrahmanya and Kumaradhara bathing points were also crowded.<br /><br />Vehicles were lined up from Kumaradhara main entrance till the Car Street, on a three-km stretch. Heavy traffic caused inconvenience to pilgrims. The police tried hard to facilitate easy movement of vehicles. <br /><br /></p>
