<p>Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said on Sunday that celebrations planned on May 20 in Hosapete of Vijayanagar district, to celebrate Congress’ two years in power, would be held if there are no further developments in the clashes with Pakistan.</p>.<p>Speaking to reporters in Ramanagara, the deputy chief minister said: “On that occasion, we want to issue title deeds to one lakh people. It will be done on the 20th itself if there are no issues regarding the war.”</p>.<p>Shivakumar, who is also the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, pointed out that preparations were underway for opening 100 Congress offices across the state. “In some places we have got permission for lands, while elsewhere, lands are being purchased. I had got permission for this (Ramanagara office) but some people brought a stay. I have taken some land next to the current office and have gifted it to the party. The work there has already begun. For this office, the inauguration will be done virtually.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking during a youth Congress event in Ramanagara, Shivakumar defended his argument that Ramanagara district should be renamed as Bengaluru South.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“We have decided to call it Bengaluru district as the land value here is bound to increase. This is our district and our pride. A day should come when we don’t go to Bengaluru and they only should use us.”</p>
