<p>A deep-tech facility named after Sir M Visvesvaraya will be among new sector-specific industrial parks that will be developed, Industries Minister M B Patil announced on Saturday ahead of next week’s Invest Karnataka summit.</p><p>According to Patil, the proposed sector-specific plans include an Advanced Pharma Park at Srinivaspur (Kolar), a solar cell manufacturing plant and food park in Vijayapura, a drone park at Chitradurga, a mega logistics park at Hanumanthapur near Dobbspet and electric vehicle clusters in Chikkaballapur and Dharwad.</p><p>The deep-tech park will come up at Jangamakote in Shidlaghatta, Chikkaballapur.</p><p>Patil said a 200-acre startup park near the Hubballi airport would be announced at Invest Karnataka. This will accommodate over 400 startups. Additionally, special awards will recognize ‘Highest One-Time Investment’ and ‘Pioneers in Global R&D’.</p><p>The first-ever Small & Medium Enterprises awards will be presented to over 35 enterprises that have significantly contributed to industrial growth, innovation and employment in Karnataka, Patil said, adding that district-specific awards and recognition for outstanding women entrepreneurs and sector excellence would also be given.</p>
