<p>Kalaburagi: Medical Education and Skill Development, Livelihood Minister Sharan Prakash Patil said that the newly constructed building of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences & Research would be dedicated to the public on December 22 to fulfil the long-pending demand of the people from the region. </p><p>Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would inaugurate the building, leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge would inaugurate the outpatient department, and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar would inaugurate the ICU. KKRDB chairman, MLAs and other leaders would take part, he added. </p><p>Jayadeva Hospital has served 5.75 lakh outpatients and 47,500 inpatients since its inception in 2016. The hospital has benefited the people of Kalyana Karnataka and angiograms have been performed on 25,000 people, angioplasties on 13,000 people and open-heart surgeries on 1,300 people. Due to the increasing number of patients, a new building has been constructed, he said.</p><p>“The hospital has a capacity of 371 beds. A total of Rs 377.17 crore has been spent on the construction, equipment,<br>and other facilities at the hospital. Of the 377.17 crore, Rs 262 crore has been spent for building construction and the remaining amount for medical equipment, furniture and other works</p><p>“The hospital has been currently operating in the GIMS building and will be relocated to the new building in January”, he said. </p><p>Stating that the new building will have 105 ICU beds, 120 general wards, three operation theatres, three cardiac cath labs besides CT and MRI units, he said that the BPL patients can undergo cardiac procedures free of cost.</p><p>The hospital would have a total of 10 cardiologists, five surgeons and 120 nurses. APL families would receive treatment at discounted rates.</p><p>The people in the Kalyana Karnataka region would receive quality treatment and they need not go to far away places like Hyderabad, Bengaluru to avail treatment, he explained. </p><p>“The hospital will have adequate staff members. We will focus on the establishment of a super-speciality hospital apart from the mother and child hospital after the inauguration of Jayadeva Institute. This will reduce the workload on GIMS Hospital which has been witnessing a heavy rush of patients. The hospital will have all basic infrastructure including drinking water supply”, the minister said. </p><p><strong>AIIMS </strong></p><p>Responding to the demand for the establishment of AIIMS in Raichur, “The minister said that the central government is meting out step-motherly treatment to the state. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written a letter three times in this regard. I have also met the union minister of health and family welfare three times apart from taking a delegation of all MLAs and MLCs from the region. But, the centre is politicising the issue”, he charged. </p>
