Jewels worth over a crore stolen

Thieves made away with jewellery and other valuables worth more than a crore, from a pawn shop in Hunsur on Friday night.

Apart from valuables, the thieves have also decamped with Rs two lakh in cash.

The theft came to light on Saturday morning, when Krishna pawn shop, belonging to Anil Chowdhury and Narad Dadeez, was opened for business.

Owner’s suspicion

The owners suspect the involvement of Narendra, a former employee of the shop.
According to Anil, Narendra had visited him on Friday night.

He also runs a pawn shop at Periyapatna and had been absconding since Saturday morning. A dog squad from Mysore was pressed into service and a case has been registered.
