<p>Srirangapatna (Mandya): A bandh call given by Hindu outfits over the in Waqf land row in <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/srirangapatna">Srirangapatna</a> town in Mandya district saw a good response on Monday as shops and markets saw shutdown. </p><p>Condemning the Waqf Board for claiming farmers' land, government buildings, monuments and others as their property, the Hindu outfits had called for a bandh on January 20 in the town. </p><p>The shops and business establishments in Srirangapatna town voluntarily downed their shutters since morning. The banks too were closed as a precautionary measure. Even though the taluk office stayed open, there were no people. </p>.BJP brings Waqf board row into udder chopping incident; asks govt to nab ‘real’ culprits.<p>The members of Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Raitha Sangha, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Mandya Rakshana Vedike and other organisations had gathered near Kuvempu Circle in the town, and took out a protest rally up to mini Vidhana Soudha where they staged a protest. Advocates too joined the protest and extended their support. </p><p>The protesters urged that the government must cancel the Waqf Board Act, which is detrimental to farmers.
