Thus far, the rains had been visiting Kolar only in the evenings, and that too for a short period of time. On Wednesday, however, the rains started lightly right from the morning. Dark clouds covered the skies at around 6 am. The light rains did not turn heavy, nor did they stop through the day.
The rains turned heavy by 7 pm and continued incessantly till 9 pm. Water collected in potholes on the mud roads in several areas of the town.
