BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje  on Saturday  accused the ruling Congress of not making any effort to convince its party leaders in Goa on resolving the Mahadayi issue.

Goa Congress chief Shataram Naik said his party is opposed to Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's move to parting with Mahadayi water to Karnataka for drinking water purpose. The Goa Congress has also said it is opposed to out-of-court settlement on the issue. This shows that Karnataka Congress leaders are not making effort on finding a solution to the  inter-state water dispute, she told reporters.

When an all-party delegation from Karnataka met Prime  Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, it was resolved that both the Congress and the BJP would try to convince the respective party leaders in the riparian states to come for talks. While the BJP in Karnataka led by B S Yeddyurappa has kept its word, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has not made any effort to convince Congress leaders in Goa, the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP   charged.
