<p>Mangaluru: A case has been registered at the Mangaluru East Police Station against an individual who, by falsely promising jobs abroad to the complainant, took Rs 1,65,000 from him. </p><p>He also defrauded several youths by collecting approximately Rs 1.82 crore under the same pretence, thereby committing a serious breach of trust. The case is currently under investigation by the CCB unit, said Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal.</p>.Two police officers suspended in Mangaluru for lapses in probe into fraudulent overseas job recruitment .<p>In connection with the case, Masiulla Atiulla Khan, aged around 36 years, son of Atiulla Khan and a resident of Mumbai — has been taken into police custody for further investigation.</p><p>Previously, another case was also registered at the Mangaluru East Police Station in December 2024 based on a complaint from immigration officials. In that case, the accused had allegedly opened a company without obtaining any proper licence and had falsely promised jobs abroad.</p><p>Both the cases have now been transferred from the Mangaluru East Police Station to the CCB for further investigation, the Commissioner said.</p>
