MUDA case: Will continue fight, approach SC, says RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna

Mysuru, DHNS: RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna said that he would approach the Supreme Court seeking CBI probe in the case of allotment of alternative sites by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife B M Parvathi. 

Even as Karnataka High Court bench of Dharwad, Justice M Nagaprasanna on Friday dismissed his petition in the case, petitioner Snehamayi Krishna said that he is not deterred by this judgement. He would continue his fight in the case. This is not the final judgement in the case, he said. 

Mysuru Lokayukta Police submitted the report on the progress in the investigation in the case, to the High Court, on January 27, during the hearing of the petition.

Now, since the High Court has dismissed the petition in the case on Friday, the Lokayukta officials will continue the investigation and submit a final report to the Special Court involving elected representatives, in Bengaluru, later.

The Lokayukta Police are investigating the case, based on an FIR filed against Siddaramaiah and others, on September 27, 2024. 

On September 25, the special court in Bengaluru for cases involving elected representatives directed the jurisdictional Lokayukta Police, in Mysuru, to initiate an investigation against Siddaramaiah and others on the basis of a complaint filed by Snehamayi Krishna. 

As per the complaint, Devaraju sold the land to B M Mallikarjuna Swamy on August 25, 2004. It was converted from agricultural land to non-agriculture land. On October 6, 2010, Mallikarjuna Swamy gifted the land to his sister, Chief Minister's wife B M Parvathi. Parvathi submitted several representations to MUDA, from 2014, seeking compensation for the said land acquired by MUDA. 

On December 12, 2021, the then MUDA Commissioner D B Natesh allotted 14 sites on an alternative developed area on a 50:50 ratio basis. In the wake of the developments, Parvathi returned all the 14 sites to MUDA, on October 3, 2024.
