<p>Mangaluru: National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) acted swiftly and filled up potholes on Nethravathi bridge on Thokkottu - Mangaluru stretch after photographs exposing the surface of the road went viral on social media.</p><p>A motorist had experienced a tyre burst while travelling on the Nethravati bridge due to the potholes on the stretch. Two tyres of the car also had burst due to the potholes. </p><p>The motorist had shared his woes on social media and held NHAI responsible for the incident due to poor maintenance. </p><p>The motor rider in his message had urged other vehicle users to drive carefully on the bridge. The work on the flyover at Nanthoor circle has been stalled and the work on a new bridge in Kuloor has been limping for the past four years. The residents and road users have been facing endless miseries due to road widening works in Poonjalkatte, Gundya and B C road. "If the district level meeting is not convened at the earliest, protests against NHAI and district administration will be held across the district," Samithi Convenor Muneer Katipalla stressed.</p>
