<p>Mysuru: More than 50,000 people gathered at a mega convention organised by Mysuru district administration and Zilla Panchayat on Maharaja's College ground in Mysuru on Saturday. </p><p>Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched 74 works of 24 departments worth a total of Rs 2,578.03 crore in Mysuru city and district at the convention. He laid foundation stone for 56 works worth Rs 2,297.88 crore and inaugurated 18 works worth Rs 280.15 crore. </p><p><strong>White taping of major roads of city</strong> </p><p>He laid foundation stone for works worth Rs 502.41 crore including concretisation/white tapping of several major connecting roads of city including Irwin road, JLB road; Kukkarahalli junction; Nazarbad city road; Hunsur Bogadi road; Mysuru-Bengaluru road; Mysuru-Mahadevapura road; Mysuru-Manandavadi; road connecting Hardinge circle and Mysuru-Bengaluru road; road connecting Nazarbad Vanivilas road to Mall of Mysore.</p><p><strong>Buildings of Health Department</strong></p><p>He launched works worth Rs 55.50 Crore of Department of health and family welfare including construction of buildings of 100 bedded taluk hospital at Sargur; Doddahejjuru Primary Health Centre in Hunsur taluk; Doddavaddaragudi health and wellness centre of K R Nagar taluk; Block level public health lab (BLPHL) at K R Nagar taluk hospital; BLPHL at Nanjangud taluk hospital; lab of Hunsur taluk hospital and basic infrastructure facilities for hospital. </p><p><strong>CESC-KPTCL</strong></p><p>Siddaramaiah laid the foundation for major projects worth Rs 408.95 crore being undertaken by Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) and KPTCL in Mysuru district. </p><p>They involve replacing 11 kv overhead power lines with underground cables and low-tension (LT) overhead lines with aerial bunch cables by CESC in four assembly constituencies in Mysuru city including Krishnaraja (Rs 118.97 Crore), Chamaraja (Rs 125.51 Crore), Narasimharaja (Rs 103.74 Crore) and Chamundeshwari (Rs 60.73 Crore) assembly constituencies.</p><p>Two projects worth Rs 38.73 crore being undertaken by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) in Hunsur taluk were also launched.
