Pejawar seer opposes division of State

Vishveshateertha Swami of Pejawar Mutt, Udupi, said on Wednesday that there was no need to create a separate state of North Karnataka.

Speaking to reporters here, the seer said that there was no need for the division of the state and that the government should ensure that developmental activities were undertaken in the entire state as it was the responsibility of the government.

Elected representatives from the North Karnataka region, keeping their political affiliations aside, should strive for the development of the region, he said.
