Pilikula authority initiates steps to take possession of Manasa Park

Pilikula Development Authority (PDA) commissioner Dr Aruna Kumar Shetty has initiated steps to take possession of G M Amusement and Leisure Park Limited's (GMALPL) Manasa water park in Pilikula following the order of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner and PDA Chairman Mullai Muhilan M P.

The amusement park's sub contract for 20 years had ended on April 28, 2022. With the government not issuing any order on extending the sub contract to GMALPL, PDA Chairman had ordered the amusement park to stop its activities immediately and surrender its assets to PDA.

When there was no response from GMALPL even after the end of the two-week notice period, PDA Chairman ordered PDA commissioner Dr Aruna Kumar Shetty N to seize the park spread over 15 acres of land.

Sources in PDA informed that the process of taking possession of the amusement park began on Tuesday with PDA directing Moodshedde Gram Panchayat (GP) and Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) to facilitate the possession of the amusement park and its assets.
