Several VIPs are among those from Karnataka who have received a personalized invitation from the Prime Minister’s Office to attend Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday evening.
The invitees include Adichunchanagiri mutt seer Nirmalananda Swami, Pejawar mutt seer Vishwesha Teertha, Sri Immadi Siddarameshwara Mahaswami, Madara Chennaiah mutt seer Basavamurthy among others, BJP sources said.
Other invitees include entrepreneurs, industrialists and IT czars, sources said unwilling to reveal their names as that could otherwise lead to speculation about their political affiliation.
Only three invitees from Karnataka will attend the swearing-in dinner, sources said.
In all, the state BJP unit has invited about 400 people including legislators and party office-bearers.
