Preserve sanctity of Mutts, says Siddaganga seer

Siddaganga Mutt, Tumkur, pontiff Siddhalinga Swami felt the necessity for Mutts to lead society on the right path.

He was speaking after inaugurating the new building of Marula Siddeshwara Swami Sukshetra and the ninth commemoration of Mahanta Mahaswami in the premises of Thorenuru Virakta Mutt, recently.

The seer opined that religious Mutts have a great responsibility.

He further said that the rulers of Kodagu donated hundreds of acres of land to Thorenuru Mutt centuries ago, realising the spiritual importance of the Mutt, situated on the banks of River Cauvery.

“All religious seers should strive towards preserving the sanctity of their respective Mutts. The purpose of all Mutts is to build a healthy society,” he added.

Arameri Kalancheri Mutt, Virajpet, pontiff Shantamallikarjuna Swami, Kirikodli Mutt pontiff Sadashiva Swami and Thorenuru Virakta Mutt pontiff Mallesha Swami also spoke on the occasion.

Ammatti Kannada Mutt seer Channabasavadeshikendra Swami, Kodlipet Kallu Mutt seer Mahanta Swami, Kallalli Mutt seer Rudramuni Swami, Kodagu Veerashaiva Samaja president H V Shivappa and others were present.
