PWD staffers' act draws flak

It has come to light that some staffers at the PWD assistant engineer’s office on Gowlibeedi allegedly cleared files behind closed doors on Tuesday, though a holiday was declared for government offices, as a mark of mourning following the death of Tumakuru Siddaganga Mutt seer Shivakumara Swami.

When the people and media persons learnt about the act of the PWD staffers, they approached the office premises. One of the staff members ran away from the rear door of the office upon seeing them. The rest of them later locked up the office and left the venue.

The people have condemned the gesture of the PWD staffers and questioned the purpose of disposing of files in a hurry behind the closed doors, that too on a holiday.
