Rs 6.68 lakh cash seized at checkpost

The flying squad officers on Monday seized Rs 6.68 lakh in cash, which was being transported without valid documents, at Gandharva Nursery checkpost on Mudigere Road.

The officers have taken Prakash of Housing Board, D R Sharath of Dantaramakki, Sathish and driver P S Harish and autorickshaw into custody.

Flying squad officer Sudarshan said that the three had hired the autorickshaw from Bolarameshwara Temple to Aldoor. Later, they alighted from the autorickshaw and boarded another autorickshaw.

During the inspection, the officers unearthed cash. The seized cash has been handed over to the election expenditure officer. The cash has been sent to the district treasury, they added.
