A senior kabaddi coach with the Sports Authority of India, Bengaluru, was found hanging at S M Lodge in Harihar.
The incident came to light when the owner of the lodge alerted the police stating that Rudrappa V Hosamani, a resident of Nayandahalli, Bengaluru, had not opened the room for three days since he checked in.
Police said a case had been booked against Hosamani under the Pocso Act at the Jnanabharathi police station in Bengaluru for allegedly misbehaving with a girl. Following this, the Sports Authority of India had suspended him and directed him to report at its head office in New Delhi for an inquiry. Hosamani told his family that he would be visiting New Delhi on October 11, but checked into a hotel at Harihar and took the extreme step. He has left a suicide note. A case has been booked.
