Last Updated 16 December 2018, 17:17 IST

Sode Mutt seer Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swami has taken Vittala, the presiding deity of Shiroor Mutt, to Sonda Kshetra in Sirsi taluk for daily worship.

The seer will be on Chaturmasya Vrata at Sonda and will return to Udupi after September 25.

Till the appointment of a successor to the Shiroor Mutt, the Dwandwa Sode Mutt will look into the administration of the Shiroor Mutt.

The Shiroor seer, while on a visit to other places, used to make arrangements for puja to the presiding deity at Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt itself.

Generally, when a seer of the Ashta Mutts, Udupi, is not well, he leaves the presiding deity in the sanctum sanctorum of the Sri Krishna Mutt.
