The BBMP commissioner Siddaiah has refuted the news report that he has written a letter recently to the State government, demanding a Lokayukta probe into the fake bill scam in the two Assembly constituencies of Gandhinagar and Malleswaram.

In a press release, the BBMP said Siddaiah had written to the government seeking Lokayukta probe into the financial irregularities one and half years ago, but not in the recent past. He also said he had full faith in the CID probe.

The press note said, “There was no occasion for him to write one more letter to the government now. This is because the State government took a conscious decision to refer this matter to the CID.

The CID has been doing a commendable job in investigating into these irregularities. They are also quite impartial and the commissioner is confident that they will come out with the truth.”
