<p>Mangaluru: As a part of the ongoing investigation into the case pertaining to mass burial in Dharmasthala, DGP (Internal Security Division) Pronab Mohanty, who is heading the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the government, arrived in Mangaluru on Sunday. </p><p>The witness-complainant appeared before the SIT for the second consecutive day in the presence of Mohanty. He had arrived covering his face at the PWD Inspection Bungalow (IB) in Mallikatte around 10:15 am in a private car accompanied by three advocates, and remained there until 6:22 pm, responding to questions from the SIT team.</p><p>SIT Chief Mohanty had arrived in Mangaluru from Bengaluru by flight earlier in the day. SIT investigating officers Anucheth M N and Jitendra Kumar Dayama received him at the airport, from where he was escorted to the IB by road. With this, the investigation involving the complainant is expected to gain further momentum. </p><p>Western Range IGP Amit Singh and Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Dr Arun K met with Pronab Mohanty and held a consultation.</p><p>Later in the evening, Mohanty visited the SIT office at Belthangady. He was accompanied by senior officers Anucheth and Simon C A. </p>.Man who confessed to mass burials in Dharmasthala, records statements before SIT.<p><strong>Resolution at a convention</strong></p><p>District women's convention of Akhila Bharatha Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane in Mangaluru on Sunday, adopted a resolution to urge the Karnataka government for a fair investigation by the SIT into the Dharmasthala mass burial case. They demanded that unnatural deaths of Padmalatha, Vedavalli, Sowjanya, Yamuna and other women reported in Dharmasthala should be brought by the SIT. </p>
