The water that had surrounded houses in Battampady, Someshwara-Ucchila receded, after Someshwar GP started desilting the estuary on Wednesday using an earthmover.
The silt blocking channels had triggered artificial floods.
Someshwar GP President Rajesh Ucchil said the measures were taken for desilting. “The water logging was solved and the problem will not recur,’’ he assured.
