<p>District in-charge minister M P Appachu Ranjan said a sports policy will be formulated within the next 60 days.</p>.<p>After inaugurating a teachers convention, organised by Somwarpet taluk primary teachers’ <br />association, recently, he said there was a proposal before the government to provide reservation for students who have excelled in sports, in higher education.<br /><br />“To utilise the youth power, a youth policy will be implemented. All efforts have been taken to provide hill allowance for government employees who have been serving in Somwarpet taluk,” he said.<br /><br />Karnataka State Primary School Teachers Association president Basavaraj Gurikar said there should be an uniform policy on education. Expressing concern over closure of Kannada medium schools, he said there is a need to provide quality education through better facilities. <br /><br />Teachers association president K B Prakash presided. As a part of the convention, a colourful procession was held. The procession included Veeragase, dollu kunitha, puja kunitha, kalladka bombe, colourful umbrellas, etc.<br /><br />The students had organised an exhibition on the occasion.<br /></p>
