Student dies by suicide in Karnataka's Mandya

According to officials, he was talking with his friends in the next room till midnight on Sunday. He later went to his room and took the extreme step.

Mandya, DHNS: A first-year MBBS student of Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) died by suicide at the students’ hostel on Monday.

Bharath Yettinamani, a native of Bandi in Yelburga taluk of Koppal district, has died by hanging. According to officials, Bharath was talking with his friends in the next room till midnight on Sunday. He later went to his room and took the extreme step. MIMS Director Dr Narasimhaswamy said, “Bharath was a football player. As he did not attend the classes regularly last year, he could not appear for the first-year exams. He wanted to appear for the exam this year.  Hence, he was staying at the hostel temporarily to pay the exam fee.”
