Student dies of cardiac arrest

Hassan: A 21-year-old girl died of cardiac arrest at Kelavathi village in Hassan taluk, on Thursday. 

K V Kavana (21), daughter of Papanna and Gayathri, is the deceased. Kavana was studying final year BCom at the Government First Grade Women’s College in Hassan and had appeared for the final exam in three subjects. 

On Wednesday evening, she was fetching water, when she suffered severe chest pain. She asked her mother for water. By the time her mother brought water to her, she collapsed. Kavana was rushed to a private hospital in Hassan, where the doctors declared that she had died of cardiac arrest.

Two girls have died of cardiac arrest in the district in the last one month, it is said.
