Tejaswi Surya slams Congress for failing to see religious motive in terror attack

Bengaluru: Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya of the BJP strongly condemned the Congress on Monday for its reluctance to acknowledge the religious motive behind the recent Pahalgam terror attack, in which the terrorists specifically targeted Hindu men.

Addressing reporters, Surya emphasized the clear religious intent of the terrorists, stating that even AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi acknowledged that the terrorists asked the victims about their religion before shooting them dead.

“Despite this, Congress continues to deny the religious aspect of the attack. I dare say this was not just an attack on our motherland, but a targeted assault on the Hindu community, which is also linked to Islamic terrorism,” Surya asserted.

He said the terrorists specifically targeted Hindu men and did not harm random tourists or citizens.

“Yet, some people refuse to acknowledge the religious nature of the attack,” he said.

‘Hindus awaken, fight’

“I urge the Hindu community to awaken and fight for its cause,” he said, accusing the Congress of prioritizing vote bank politics over national security. 

The BJP MP also lashed out at Excise Minister R B Thimmapur, for making “shameful” statements regarding the attack.

“Instead of supporting the families of the victims and condemning the attack, these so-called secular leaders are questioning the incident and attempting to justify the unjustifiable,” he said.
