<p>Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that it was impossible to impose total prohibition in the State.<br /><br /></p>.<p>“Total prohibition could be achieved only if it is done nationwide. The concept will not be successful if a handful of states prohibit liquor,” Siddaramaiah said here on Sunday. <br /><br />The chief minister said that Karnataka too would enact an anti-superstition law on the lines of Maharashtra. Care would be taken to ensure that the said law does not hurt any religious practice.<br /><br />He said that as much as 1.32 lakh acres of land was required for implementation of the Upper Krishna Phase-III project and acquisition proceedings had been initiated in respect of 60,000 acres. <br /><br />A sum of Rs 1,500 crore had been earmarked for paying compensation to landlosers in terms of the new Land Acquisition Act of 2013.<br /><br /><br /></p>
