<p class="title">Following massive landslides at nine places on the Charmadi ghat on Monday-Tuesday, the police have prohibited the movement of vehicles on the ghat till Thursday morning (for 48 hours).</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Charmadi ghat connects Mangaluru to Bengaluru. The landslides were caused by heavy rain, and the resultant traffic jam occurred for over 24 hours, on Monday-Tuesday. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The debris consisting of slush and fallen trees were cleared on Tuesday afternoon to facilitate the movement of the stranded vehicles.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Fearing further landslides, Chikkamagaluru Superintendent of Police Annamalai said that movement of vehicles is prohibited on the Charmadi ghat for the next 48 hours (Beginning Tuesday).</p>
