<p>Mangaluru: Police seized two trucks transporting red laterite stones without valid permits near Kashimata in Vittla Kasaba village. The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna of Vittal Police Station along with his team.</p><p>The trucks were intercepted while travelling from Ukkada towards Vittal during a routine vehicle inspection. Upon inspection, each truck was found to be carrying 500 red laterite stones. </p><p>When questioned, the drivers admitted they had no valid documentation or permits for the transport. Preliminary investigation revealed that the stones in the first truck were illegally loaded by a man named Jafar from Perla, Kerala. </p>.BBMP, police gear up for Ganesha festival celebrations.<p>The second truck's load was arranged by Naseer from Dharmattadka in Kerala. Police have taken the vehicles and the drivers into custody. </p><p>A case has been registered at Vittal Police Station under Section 303(2)(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Sections 4(1) and 21 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, and Sections 3 and 44 of the Karnataka Minor Mineral Concession Rules (KMMCR).</p>
