<p class="bodytext">The one-day 12th Udupi Taluk Sahitya Sammelana will be held at Lions Bhavan in Brahmagiri on January 18.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Udupi Taluk Sahitya Parishat President Vasanti Shetty Brahmvar said folk scholar and writer Gananath Yekkar will preside over the convention.</p>.<p class="bodytext">MLA Raghupathi Bhat will inaugurate the Sammelana.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Public Library Department, Bengaluru Director Sathish Kumar Hosamani will inaugurate the bookstalls on the occasion.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Udupi District Kannada Sahitya Parishad president Neelavara Surendra Adiga will be the guest of honour on the occasion.</p>.<p class="bodytext">A seminar on the topic, ‘Declining Interest in Literature and the Measures to be taken up to Conserve the Literature.’ </p>.<p class="bodytext">The organiser will felicitate people who have made significant contributions in various fields. They are Immanuel Suchit Kunder (Postman), Thonse Jayant Kumar (Yakshagana), Isaac Saheb (Driver), Arunakala (Sports), U N Ramesh Kumar (Music), Kudi Srinivas Bhat (Agriculture), Venkatagiri Kadekar (Literature), Kiran Manjanbailu (Journalism), Pradeepchandra Kutpadi (Theatre), Nityananad Olakadu (Social Service) and Tulukoota (Organisation).</p>
